[Analysis Case] Investigation of Adhering Components Before and After Cleaning of Mechanical Parts

It is possible to evaluate cleaning effectiveness and identify contaminants.

When overhauling mechanical parts such as pumps and engines, there are cases where parts are cleaned and reused. If the cleaning does not sufficiently remove dirt, there is a risk of malfunctions occurring in the assembled machinery. To investigate the presence of dirt or to analyze the components that are attached, thermal desorption gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (TD-GC/MS) is effective. By heating the sample at a high temperature (up to 350°C), the attached organic substances can be volatilized and measured using GC/MS. This method is useful for identifying the attached components, comparing the amount of attachment before and after cleaning, and assessing the degree of cleaning based on different cleaning methods. Measurement method: GC/MS Product field: Manufacturing equipment and parts Analysis purpose: Composition evaluation and identification For more details, please download the materials or contact us.

Development Headquarters Analysis Center Business Introduction

We propose a more accurate treatment flow for water and wastewater that is suitable for the region based on water quality analysis.

To handle water, which is the source of life, rigorous analysis, inspection, and evaluation are essential. The analysis center acts as a checkpoint for water quality and contaminants, monitoring various processes, providing necessary feedback, and supporting quality and optimization. As a part of the Development Headquarters, which is at the core of the technology of Maezawa Industrial Co., Ltd., we possess excellent technology in measuring disinfection by-products such as trihalomethanes, harmful metals, and testing pathogenic microorganisms including Cryptosporidium. Additionally, based on this technology, we are actively engaged in the registration of water quality inspection agencies under Article 20 of the Water Supply Act, environmental measurement certification business (concentration) registration, and O&M and PFI projects focused on private outsourcing in the maintenance and management of water supply and sewage systems. For more details, please contact us or refer to our catalog.

Technical Data: Analysis of Tar Components by GC×GC-TOF/MS

Connect columns with different polarities in series and analyze! Introducing the measurement results of tar samples!

Our company is engaged in the analysis solution business, and this document presents the results of measuring tar samples using GCxGC-TOF/MS. GCxGC (comprehensive two-dimensional GC) is a method that connects columns with different polarities in series through a modulator for analysis. By performing boiling point separation in the 1st column and polarity separation in the 2nd column, it is possible to rapidly expand compound groups in two dimensions. [Case Study] Development of an mRNA Impurity Measurement Method Using Dual LC

Efficiently examine separation conditions through method scouting; dual LC allows for the operation of ion exchange and ion-pair reversed-phase conditions within the same system.

The Thermo Scientific Vanquish Duo UHPLC system is a dual LC system equipped with two independent flow paths, allowing for parallel condition testing of different separation chemistries, such as the combination of ion exchange chromatography (IEX) and ion-pair reverse phase chromatography (IP-RP), within the same system. This technical document utilizes a method scouting kit to examine various ion-pairing agents, gradient conditions, pH, and column temperatures, achieving good peak shapes for mRNA and high-sensitivity detection of impurities. By simultaneously investigating IEX and IP-RP, it is possible to understand the separation characteristics of the sample, enabling efficient determination of separation conditions. With high separation capability and sensitivity, impurities can be effectively detected during post-transcription purification, allowing for reliable mRNA purification. **Features** - Simultaneous examination of two different separation chemistries (IEX and IP-RP) using the same device. - High-sensitivity detection of impurities in post-transcription purification through mRNA profiling. - Efficient determination of suitable separation conditions using the method scouting kit. - Examination of up to 10 solvents per column type to determine appropriate mobile phase conditions.

Would you like to visualize all stages of the bioprocess using LC/MS?

Diverse versatility from upstream to downstream.

The introduction of LC/MS in bioprocessing is progressing overseas. You might be thinking, "I use LC, but MS is difficult..." BioAccord is here to solve that concern. With its simple operability and high reproducibility, it is a recommended system for bioprocess engineers. Do you have any such impressions or questions? ■ Is evaluating aggregates sufficient with just LC? With LC/MS, you can also confirm the intact mass. ■ Is it enough to just confirm major post-translational modifications? With LC/MS, you can perform peptide mapping and post-translational modifications in a single analysis. ■ Is it sufficient to monitor only amino acids? With LC/MS, you can comprehensively detect components* in the culture medium, and integration with JMP is also possible. *Dependent on component concentration. ■ How do you preprocess samples taken from a bioreactor? It's easier than you think. After filtering out particulates, you can simply dilute with water or buffer to measure the intact mass of components and antibodies in the medium. Waters has a walk-up solution to automate this process. *For details, please download the catalog.

[Analysis Case] Analysis of Smartphone Sealants by Pyrolysis GC/MS

Analysis of UV-curable materials is possible through two-stage heating.

Using a two-stage heating method with thermal decomposition GC/MS, we analyzed the material of the sealing agent around the display of commercially available smartphones. By heating the sample at a low temperature (250°C) and measuring the gas components generated using GC/MS, we can detect residual monomers and low molecular weight additives (polymerization initiators, antioxidants). Subsequently, by heating at a high temperature (550°C), we can decompose the polymers and estimate their constituent components. This revealed that the sealing agent is made of a UV-curable material.

[Analysis Case] Analysis of Evolved Gases during High-Temperature Heating in Air by Pyrolysis GC/MS

It is possible to track the thermal decomposition behavior in the presence of oxygen.

The decomposition behavior of materials when heated in a vacuum or in inert gases such as nitrogen can differ from that when heated in air. Therefore, when conducting gas emission analysis, it is desirable to heat the materials in an environment that closely resembles the actual conditions to which they are exposed. In this case, a comparison of the gases emitted during the pyrolysis of polystyrene at 550°C in helium and in air was conducted. Only hydrocarbon compounds were detected in helium, whereas reaction products with oxygen, such as benzaldehyde, were also detected in air.
